NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The market's biggest movers Thursday were also in the spotlight on StockTwits, with First Solar, Hewlett Packard, eBay, Mastercard and Visa among the top trending topics.

Shares of First Solar (FSLR) surged more than 7%, and led the gains on the S&P 500 (SPX) and Nasdaq Composite (COMP), after the Department of Energy awarded the solar-panel maker conditional loan guarantees worth $4.5 billion.
Hewlett Packard's (HPQ, Fortune 500) stock was among the Dow's (INDU) leaders, with shares rising more than 3%. HP's TouchPad tablet is set to hit shelves Friday. Meanwhile, Reuters reported that a group of private equity firms are looking to break up the tech giant, because they say it's stretched too thin.

eBay's (EBAY, Fortune 500) stock also posted solid gains a day after the Federal Reserve announced its final rules on debit card swipe fees, which will spare the company's PayPal business.
But Visa (V, Fortune 500) and Mastercard (MA, Fortune 500) shares slid more than 2% Thursday in the aftermath of the Fed's new rules, which cap on the fees that big banks charge retailers when customers use debit cards to 21 cents.
All of that is giving StockTwits users plenty to tweet about:
Street_Insider: First Solar $FSLR surges 6.6% on reports of 3 DoE loan guarantees. Also new 'Positive' rating at Avian.
